Located in Montgomery Village, Covenant United Methodist Church is a family-oriented community of faith close to Gaithersburg, Germantown, and Laytonsville, Maryland. We are a church home that supports and nurtures, as well as missions to the broader community and the world.  We believe in living, teaching and faithfully proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, a message of grace and peace. People from a wide variety of backgrounds and faith journeys worship and learn together at Covenant, Our community of faith is extremely diverse, and reflects the varied ethnicity of the communities surrounding our congregation.

Ash Wednesday serves as the beginning of Lent.  We come together before God, recognizing our humanity, repenting of our sin, and remembering who we are, and who we can be.

Using stories from the scripture and the songs, we will explore on own struggle to accept grace, to balance justice and mercy, to live in love, and to find hope.

Palm/Passion Sunday 8:30 am & 10 am

Palm/Passion Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. The service begins with Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Palms are waved as Jesus passes by and heads into the city to celebrate the Passover with his disciples.
MAundy Thursday 7:30 pm

The Maundy Thursday service observes Jesus at the Last Supper, where he celebrated the Passover with his disciples. Upon his arrival, he humbly washes the feet of each man present.  Then,  they break bread together and Jesus teaches them the commandment to love one another as he has shown them. 

Good Friday 7:3o PM

Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus.  It is the most solemn day in the Christian calendar. All are invited to join Covenant faithfully as we observe this day with great humility and reverence.  The gospel is experienced through readings, prayers and song.

Join us to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Risen Lord. Easter morning worship is filled with Hallelujahs and rejoicing which renews our spirit and faith.  Child care is available.
