What is Lent?
Lent is a 40-day period of self-examination, repentance and penitence in preparation for Easter. Modern Christians generally observe Lent by emphasizing their relationship with God, choosing to give up something (like a favorite food), or to give of themselves by performing volunteer work. Lent is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our faith and ourselves, and each year Covenant offers several choices for Lenten study.
